Real food vs. Protein Shakes: Which one is better?

From experience, I can tell you that real food is by far the most important component of a bodybuilding diet. There are so many nutrients that real food contains, many of which have not even been discovered yet, that you would be doing yourself a disservice by limiting the amount of real food that you are eating.

In addition, real food has what is called a “thermic effect”. A “thermic effect” is the impact that real food has in your metabolism. Because real food requires digestion, your body burns more calories in processing it; as opposed to shakes which are already pre-digested. (more…)

How Can I Quickly Build Muscle

Here’s a Great training tip that will absolutely help you build muscle faster!

I call it the “Sense, Tense & Lift” protocol. Let’s first look at an example of the “Sense” portion - If you are about to train your biceps, using a biceps barbell curl. Rather than just jump into your set of exercise, you can stimulate the biceps muscles much more by first thinking strongly about your biceps - I refer to this with my clients as “putting your mind into the muscle”.   (more…)
