FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – HOUSTON, TX., Feb. 4, 2009 –  Labrada Nutrition is announcing a voluntary recall of specified lots of Rockin’ Roll Brand Nut Roll Bars because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  Though Labrada Nutrition is not aware of any reported cases of illness related to these products, it has issued this voluntary recall as a precautionary measure.

The recalled product contains roasted peanuts supplied by Peanut Corporation of America, which recently announced an expansion of a voluntary recall covering all peanut products made in their Blakely, GA plant since January 1, 2007.  Peanut Corporation of America is currently the focus of an ongoing investigation concerning the recent Salmonella outbreaks.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.  In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

A of my favorite stuff about blogging is this community of bloggers. We aren’t cut-throat. We share successes and miseries. And when an item functions, we don’t always keep it to ourselves – we want it to work for anybody. I really like blogging and hope that it becomes full-time one particular day, but I get pleasure from the studying and growing (the journey) and am a very patient man.
